1. This quiz is for school children. However audience rounds are open to all. Registrations are required only for the school teams and not for the audience.

2. Each team will comprise 2 members from the same school. In case of schools with different branches, each branch will be treated as a separate school.

3. The contest is open to school students of all age groups, though it is best suited for students of Std. 8 to Std 12.

4. Students should carry their school ID card and be in their uniforms on the day of the quiz.

5. There will be a written preliminary round of 30 questions, out of which six teams will make it to the finals.

6. There is no limit to the number of teams per school; however, in the event of more than one team of the same school making it to the top six, only the best team of the school will be selected for the final six.

7. The team strength for the finals will be three. The third member of the team should be a teacher of the same school, or a parent of either of the two students of that team. NOTE: If the third member is a teacher, even one teacher per school attending the quiz will be sufficient as only the best team from that school will make to the final.

8. The final of the quiz is broadly divided into three sections. “MADRAS PAST” focuses on the origins and history of the city. “MADRAS PRESENT” as the name suggests deals with present day Chennai and contains more contemporary questions. “MADRAS FOREVER” contains questions that try to capture the essence of Madras culture, communities, customs and traditions, lifestyle etc. There will be audio- visual content and buzzer rounds in this quiz.

9. As some questions will focus on the history of Madras, teams may refer to books such as Madras Rediscovered by S. Muthiah, available at all outlets of Landmark.

10. Limited spot registrations will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

11. Registration forms can be downloaded from www.murugappa.com, or collected from any Landmark outlet across the city.

12. Participating teams have to report to the venue at 1:00pm. If teams do not arrive by that time, the seats would be allotted to the waitlisted teams.

13. Filled in registration forms should be submitted on or before 26th of August, 5:00 pm

14. Scanned registration forms can be sent via email to murugappamadrasquiz@gmail.com and the filled out forms can be sent by post to Ms. Mathangi.V, Group Corporate Communications, Dare House #234, N.S.C Bose Road, Chennai- 600001.
