Parry Agro Industries Ltd (PAIL)
is part of the Murugappa group's plantation businesses, and its
main products are tea, coffee, vanilla and rubber. PAIL has also
made a foray into organic tea for exports. In very adverse conditions
for both the tea and coffee industries (rising costs compounded
by falling prices), the company has done well to maintain and even
boost its price realisations by quality upgradation, judicious product
mixes and boosting exports. Parry Agro has a modern R&D facility
accredited by NABL for its chemical and microbiological facilities,
unique for a plantation company. The company has pioneered research
on reversal of soil degradation.
