Chennai, 18 August 2014 : Continuing its strong association with the city of Madras, the Murugappa Group today launched The Madras Song, a tribute to the magical moments of Madras, in association with The Hindu today. This four-and-a-half-minute video, depicts the experiences of a young lady visiting Madras for the first time. The city has a comfortable, self-assured, laid-back and relaxed attitude about itself. When one becomes fairly sure of what to expect from the city, many unexpected pleasant surprises await just around the corner. This song and video, which is a tribute to our hometown, reflects all this and more. It is an attempt to capture the soul of the city.
It is an experiential film, made in a natural unchoreographed format, with very real-life experiences. The team behind The Madras Song include Director Vijay Prabhakaran, lyricist Subu and music director Vishal Chandrasekharan. It features the voice of singer Shakthisree Gopalan and has actor-model Yasmin Ponnappa on screen.
