Towards Better Yield

The Godavari Rythu Puraskaram' is an innovative programme introduced by Godavari Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd. for progressive farmers in the region. Selecting Castor as the major crop, this programme has been launched from Mehabubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh. This initiative has brought a sense of healthy competition among farmers who vie with each other on the use of the latest
of technology and on optimum yield.

Among the 50 entries that came in, two farmers were selected for achieving high yield. G Chinna Reddy, MLA, Wanaparthy handed over the first prize to Singadi Ramaswamy from Shettypalli village who was selected as the best castor growing, progressive farmer, who reaped 10 quintals per acre. The prize consisted of Rs 25,000 and a certificate of appreciation. The second prize was awarded to Yeddula Narasimhulu of Chinnadharpalli of Hunwada Madal, whose yield was 8 quintals per acre.
