TN Assembly Speaker inaugurates
Public Health Care To benefit the healthcare requirements of the needy in the Industrial belt of North Chennai
Coromandel International Limited, part of Murugappa Group, has set up the Primary health Care Centre in the Kathivakkam Municipal Complex in Kathivakkam near Ennore. In addition to the team of doctors, nurses, pharmacist and technicians, this Health Care Centre also has facilities for collecting samples for pathological tests, for the patients’ convenience. This will be a highly subsidised model. The patients taking treatment have to pay a token amount Rs 10 for 1 week of consultation. Medicines and tests will be available at actual costs. This is expected to benefit around 38000 families residing in 8 villages around Ennore and Kathivakkam. Speaking on the occasion after inaugurating the Centre, the Hon TN Assembly Speaker Thiru D Jayakumar listed out the measures being taken by the Government of Tamilnadu for the benefit and well-being of the people in the area. He also appreciated the dedication of Coromandel for its community-centric activities, and announced that a task force of industries will be set up in the next few months to address any concerns of the local communities. Reiterating the commitment of the Murugappa Group towards community support and development, the Group Chairman Mr A Vellayan mentioned that the 4 sectors of Agriculture, Education, Healthcare and Sports will be the thrust areas of the Group’s efforts towards community development.
