Carborundum net profit rises 46 pc

July 24 2006: Carborundum Universal Ltd
has reported a 46-per-cent growth in net profit at Rs 12.92 crore
on net sales of Rs 113.64 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.
During the corresponding period in the previous year, the company
reported a net profit of Rs 8.87 crore on net sales of Rs 88. 01 crore.
According to a press release from the Murugappa group company, it
has reported a buoyancy in its product lines - abrasives, ceramics
and electro minerals.
Its joint venture with Jingri Industrial Diamond
Company, a company promoted by CEEB (the China Engineering and Exploration
Bureau), at an investment of $4.9 million (Rs 20 crore) would strengthen
