Fertilisers
Coromandel Fertilisers Limited (CFL), a constituent
of the Murugappa Group, has three fertiliser plants producing high
analysis phosphatic fertilisers. Its brands are some of the most
popular in the farm inputs sector and have, over the years, won
the trust of the Indian farmer. It produces and sells complex fertilisers
of different grades and single super phosphate (SSP). The company
also manufactures and sells bentonite sulphur, which provides sulphur
to the soil. The company also trades in potash, another key plant
nutrient. These products are sold under well-established brand names
Gromor, Paramfos, Parry Super and Parry Gold.
The merger of the farm inputs division of EID Parry
and the acquisition of Godavari Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd catapulted
the Group to leadership status in its markets, and to a close second
in the phosphatic fertilisers industry in the country. The company
is the lowest cost producer of phosphatic fertilisers in India.
Complex phosphatic fertilisers are manufactured
at the company's integrated plants at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh,
as well as at Ennore and Ranipet in Tamil Nadu, using rock phosphate
imported from Africa and Jordan. Sulphur is imported from Japan
and the Middle East.
