Re-enactment of Battle of Colachel
The re-enactment, being staged by NCC Cadets attired in period costumes, is that of the Battle of Colachel (10th August 1741) between a Dutch East India Company force and the Travancore Army resulting in the Dutch being trounced, the first and only instance of a native Indian force decisively defeating a European one. The event is open to all.

Venue: ‘Broken Bridge Area,’ south of Adyar estuary, by the seaside.

Anglo Indian Crafts & Cuisine Fair
